APPLICANT INFORMATION
ICS administers assistance through the Brown County Housing Authority (BCHA) for Brown County AND through the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) for over 20 counties in Wisconsin.

Waiting list “preferences” are as follows:
1) Elderly/Disabled/Homeless/Veterans - living in Brown County
2) Households with children - living in Brown County
3) Other Brown County residents who do not qualify for the first two lists
4) Applicants who do not live in Brown County.
The waiting list for each preference is depleted before moving on to the next waiting list preference. (Meaning, all Brown County applicants who are elderly, disabled, homeless, or veterans, are selected from the waiting list before moving onto Brown County applicants who have children in the household, etc.)
To be placed on the waiting list with the Brown County resident preference, proof of residency within Brown County is required.
The current anticipated wait times (from the date of application) are as follows:
Elderly/disabled/homeless/veterans – 9-12 months
Families with minors in the household – 18+ months
Other Brown County residents – 3+ years
Non-preference (not a Brown County resident) – 5+ years
Applicant does need to be living in Brown County to be placed on the waiting list for those who are homeless, if providing verification of homelessness from a social service agency.
!!Important!!
Applicants who are not residing in Brown County at the time of application will be REQUIRED to reside within Brown County, WI with their voucher for one year before being allowed to move.
