Donation to Wise Women Gathering Place - Safe Parking Program

In October, one of the things the Ladder of Hope has been working on was a donation of blankets and gas cards to a Safe Place Parking Program. This program is offered by Wise Women Gathering Place and provides a safe place for homeless individuals/families to park at night while living in their car. With fall upon us and winter right around the corner, ICS Ladder of Hope provided Kwik Trip gift cards and 20 cozy blankets.

Hearing of this need in the community, an ICS staff member shared it with her family also. Her mother, who makes fleece tie blankets, decided to also donate 6 of her homemade blankets to Ladder of Hope to be given along with our donations. It is heartwarming to see that staff and their families are truly invested in helping others in our community who are facing hard times. Oh, and there is more... the staff member's mom was sharing this story with her hair dresser, who was so moved by it, that she did not charge her for her haircut, but instead told her to go buy more fleece and make more blankets with that money. Kind people ... repaying a kindness to others... truly paying it forward.
